Donate Responsibly!!!

We are humans. We are God's best creatures. We are endowed with the best things in this entire planet. But according to me the most precious gift of this life form is the understanding we have. The analytical and the emotional capability, working together to drive out the best decisions from our mind. Hence, all of us already know that as humans we must work towards a progressive society. A place where everyone is working together for a harmonious development. But for the society to be in harmony, the community with surplus must support the community in need. When humans realised this fact, the concept of donation was established.

Giving something to somebody else is not a new action. We all have must done it at least once or twice. The most common example is giving your old things to your housekeeper or your driver or maybe the security personnel. Many people are in fact extremely active in this particular area. But does our responsibility ends when we donate something? The answer is NO!

The most important reason for any donation drive is to help an individual or to help an entire community. So simply by giving something, your responsibility is not finished but the person must be accountable for where his product ends. The person must make sure that the ultimate purpose of the donation is fulfilled, and also, that his feelings and wishes has reached the donee. Then only, the donee will cherish the product and the donor can really feel satisfied. This is what is meant by donating responsibly. Only donating responsibly can bring out the optimum results for the society.

Steps to donate responsibly:

a) Select a cause you actually believe in:- Unless and until you completely believe in the cause, you will be never encouraged to get the best results. Hence, choose only one reason for example, it can be a community like for children or the handicaps. It can be any objective like for education or for the environment. But the most important thing is that you believe in the cause you are supporting.

b) Donate personally - If possible, donate your belongings personally. As more and more intermediaries enter, keeping the track record of your product becomes difficult.

c) Share the value of your product - When you donate personally, you have a chance to communicate with the donees and tell them some stories about your product and the emotions attached to it. Also, share your expectations that the receiver must cherish it and work hard to contribute his share to the society, when the time comes. Let the receiver understand that everything he recieves is valuable. And nothing in this world is a free ride. Remember! the feeling of a free ride is the worst obstacle for the development of any community and hence, this should never be encouraged.

d) Spread the word - It is one of the easiest thing that anyone can do. Make your known ones, whether friends, colleagues or just acquaintances, aware about the purpose and importance of donation. Everyone has something to give. Even if you have no physical product, you still has your time.

So donate!!
